The «SyMetric» system was initially developed in the early 1980’s, at a time when dedicated commercial clinical data management software packages were essentially non-existent. In fact, the concept of data validation for clinical trial databases was only beginning to be discussed in publications such as the Drug Information Association Journal and Controlled Clinical Trials.
Of course, «SyMetric» has undergone many changes since the early 1980’s. At first, all processing was performed using SAS® on a large mainframe. As PC-based software developed products matured, the software was ported to Xbase-type languages such as dBase and Clipper. Following this legacy, «SyMetric» now utilizes Xbase++ from Alaska Software Technologies, AG, which provides full 32-bit Windows support and GUI (Graphical User Interface) functionality.
«SyMetric» believes in popularizing its products through performance. Hence «SyMetric» maintains a relatively low profile with little presence at exhibitions and in journal advertisements. The present market presence has been achieved, quite simply, by reputation.
Innumerable projects using «SyMetric» have been inspected by the FDA with a clean outcome (there have been no 483 inspection audit reports associated with «SyMetric»)
«SyMetric» has clients worldwide, with a client base to date including Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, India, Kenya, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the U.K., and, of course, the USA. Our clients include smaller and global pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, device manufacturers, and several CROs.
